DISASTER MANAGEMENT SECTOR (DMS)

TDP has established the above sector to work on natural resources & adopt coping measures to face emergencies including Floods, monsoon, and tremors. TDP in addition to its working staff has also developed the capacities of community volunteers to face the uneven situations during the emergencies. The recent environmental holocausts in Pakistan in the shape of Earthquakes, Rain Floods 2022, has enhanced the scope of work of DMS sector. TDP like other national & international organizations under took drastic measures & efforts to facilitate the target communities in hour of natural crisis. The DM sector will academically train the masses to face the uneven situations in cases of hurricanes, earthquake, monsoon rains and other such situations which pose high amount dangers and distresses. The people of Pakistan have faced such situations in last decade in shape of earthquake & flood 2010 & monsoon 2011. The DM sector will primarily work on disaster mitigation & disseminate essential knowhow for coping events. Following will be the major activities .

• Enhance the capacities of people through disaster mitigation training to cope up with disasters.
• Actively participate in relief & rehabilitation activities in case of any disaster.
• Disseminate disaster coping material in target areas Form DM committees in the target areas and impart quality trainings to DM groups .
• Practically involve communities in relief & rehabilitation efforts .
• Publish & disseminate disaster protection measures in people to alleviate their level of understanding to face such situation.
